the real voyage

to be honest, most of what we heard in the first two days is not new to my ears, but it set me to thinking, to digging deeper, and to seeing "with new eyes". each of our four teachers has her or his own strong points and weaved them into their classes. inspiring michell (like a elder sister), smart nikki (a cute lovely young girl), scholarly jim (sometimes i feel he is more likely to be a poet or artist), and well-organized gena (sorry for her leg).

while i was listening to them, i was always reflecting on how i can put what they say into my classes back in china, whether i have tried best in my work, and what will be better for my students. i am sure my students will see some changes in their "old" teacher, and hope those will be changes for better.

missing my students, missing my babies...........
oh, gena, if u happen to get here (most probably not, i know ur attitude towards "technology" :=). above is the pic of my babies.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I enjoy the way you characterize us in the first paragraph. It is interesting to compare your thoughts on our teaching styles with my own.

Also, I think it is great that you are already contemplating some changes in the "old" teacher. I think the best teachers are also the best learners and those who are always looking for ways to develop their own skills.

Great pictures too!! Sooooo cute :-).

  3. thanks a lot for ur nice comments. i can't agree more that"the best teachers are also the best learners and those who are always looking for ways to develop their own skills".
u know it's very popular in china to say " to advance with times". at least we have to keep up with our students with the new technology. and i learnt a lot from my students, especially those computer experts.

  5. It is nice to see babies here. We all miss our babies back home. Cute, smiling, crying and other facial expressions all come into mind! I hope they could also enjoy the voyage to grow up without parents around all the time.
